Letter from the Chair

Welcome to your Snohomish County Democratic Party.

Democrats understand that while it's easy to hang a flag from the rafters or slap on a bumper sticker, true activism requires effort. Your Democratic Party in Snohomish County is committed to activism as an act of personal responsibility, a responsibility each of us has to improve our communities at large rather than simply focusing on ourselves.

You will find a variety of opinions within the Democratic Party. While our platform spells out our general principles, we do not adhere to a single view. We encourage lively debate and pluralism within our ranks. When there is disagreement we discuss, vote, and move forward. While some may not understand this uniquely Democratic trait, we believe diversity is the very foundation of freedom.

I cordially invite you to be an active part of your Democratic Party. Study our platform. Attend a local meeting of your Democratic neighbors in your legislative district. Bring your ideas, your commitment, and your unique background to the party. Come work with us to make a difference for individuals and families in Snohomish County.
